Matalai House is composed of a central Main House, a grand Palapa, and three separate, private suites, offering accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 exquisite rooms.

The Master Suite

Separated from the main house by a private walkway, the Master Suite is a three-story sanctuary of privacy and luxury. The ground floor provides a private lounge, kitchenette, and spacious bedroom with a large bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower, dressing room, and large viewing deck. The first floor offers a private library and office space, while the top floor provides another viewing deck with magnificent, unparalleled views.

The Dune House

Nestled in the natural dune forest adjacent to the main house, the Dune House is accessible by a private, decked walkway. Offering a kitchenette, lounge, and a spacious en-suite bedroom with an indoor and outdoor shower and a large bath, it has abundant space for a couple. A private deck with an outdoor dining area and a rooftop deck offer spectacular views, ideal for whale watching and sunbathing.

The Beach House

Similar in size and layout to the Dune House, this suite also boasts a large en-suite bedroom with a large bath, indoor and outdoor shower, lounge, and kitchenette. The patio is enclosed with shutters for guests who prefer more privacy, and it also has a rooftop deck with sun loungers.

The Luxury Suites

Room 1: A spacious suite with a private lounge, an outside deck with a seating area, a bathroom with an oversized bath, an indoor and outdoor shower, and a king-size bedroom.

Rooms 2 & 3: Similar in size, these rooms share a private courtyard. Both have a small lounge area, a king-size canopy bed, a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private outside deck with seating and sea views.

Here, guests are welcomed into a world of refinement, with access to our private cinema, a spacious lounge that gazes out over the Indian Ocean, and an expansive indoor dining area complemented by an outdoor sunset deck.

The Palapa

The palapa is a stunning architectural masterpiece, offering sweeping 180-degree views across the bush and the Indian Ocean. Crafted in the traditional Swahili style with a polished concrete bar, it features a spacious lounge area, creating the ultimate setting to enjoy the serenity of this exceptional villa.

Exterior

This elevated oasis features a grand swimming pool, an outdoor dining area, multiple sundecks with loungers, a cozy fire pit, and a steam room. The intricately carved wooden doors frame views so mesmerizing they seem almost unreal—a living painting of the Machangulo coastline.
